In our latest episode, we discuss world-building, campaign creation, and adventure writing!

In this episode, we continue our coverage of Dungeon Master Appreciation Month. First, artist Tyler Jacobson and Senior Art Director Richard Whitters discuss a forthcoming project in the works. Then we speak with R&D’s Senior Designer Chris Perkins about his experience as DM to the Stars.

Tyler Jacobson/Richard Whitters

Artist Tyler Jacobson last spoke with us back in September, looking at his glorious cover illustrations for the Player’s Handbook and Dungeon Master’s Guide. Senior Art Director Richard Whitters helps provide campaign setting and world-building concepting for Dungeons & Dragons—and for both Tyler and Richard, their work involves the forthcoming game, Sword Coast Legends, due out later this year from n-Space.

Chris Perkins

Fans of PAX and the D&D Live Show should recognize the voice of our first guest, who has become fairly synonymous with the art of Dungeon Mastering. As Senior Designer at Wizards of the Coast’s R&D department, Chris Perkins has been instrumental in both the shaping and the running of the game. Chris also braves the stage at PAX and PAX East to run the adventurers of Acquisitions Incorporated through their latest perils, and wrote the long-running DM Experience column on the D&D website.
